Dossier Perfume Review – Are They Good?

Dossier perfume review

Attention all scent enthusiasts – Life is too short to be stuck with your boring old scents. Why not smell like a garden full of night-blooming flowers or have a rich gourmand experience with a note of patchouli instead?

Is Dossier Legit?

Dossier brings you all the iconic perfumes you know and love, with that same luxe scent and high-quality feel, but without the celebrity endorsement fees, markups, or pricey packaging. You get the same quality ingredients, but with a small twist on proven scents. Add it to your shopping list today, you will thank us later.

Spending over $100 on a bottle of perfume that costs $2 to produce makes no sense! Dossier offers a perfectly legitimate low-cost alternative to expensive branded perfumes.

Since its launch in 2018, the company has generated a lot of buzz, and has garnered mixed responses from customers. But I think it is safe to say that this company has truly changed the game. It’s a brand that understands the needs of its customers and caters to them.

Does Dossier smell like the real thing?

One of the hardest challenges for a brand such as Dossier is to have products that are at par with the original because when it comes to perfumes, you would rather go over your budget than spare those cents and be stuck with an inferior product.  The company offers its customers a variety of scents slightly varying from the original inspiration.

Their collection can be categorized into fifteen unique olfactive categories – Floral, Oriental, Fresh, Woody, Gourmand, Green, Powdery, Spicy, Fougere, Fruity, Floriental, citrus, aromatic, Ambery, and Aquatic.

They have scents for both men and women. For example, inspired by Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle, Oriental Woody 1 is claimed to smell almost identical. Spicy Orchid inspired by Tom Ford’s Black Orchid has the same notes of Truffle, Gardenia and Black Currant.

Some of their best-sellers are Floriental Almond inspired by Carolina Herrera’s Good Girl, which is a rich mix of tuberose and orange blossom blended joyful peach and almond flavors. Floriental Brown Sugar inspired by YSL’s Mon Paris feels Floral and gourmand on the skin.

No idea what to buy? DO NOT PANIC.

Visit their blog as it has all the information you need to make an informed decision. For a burst of scent that will remind you of the great outdoors, choose a woody scent. Fresh scents are universally loved. If you love spicy scents with a dash of exotic flavor, oriental is the way to go and since no fragrance is complete without floral notes or their constituents when it comes to choosing this scent, do not hesitate.

Floral scents are usually associated with women but as David Seth Moltz of D.S& Durga once said, “Flower notes were historically important in men’s colognes and scents up until around WWII but the dawn in the 80s and the sugar fruity florals in the 90s have skewed our vision of what “floral” means in perfume.” Floral scents are great for women and men.

Another great thing about the brand is the fact that it takes into consideration the appearance of its product. Dossier’s fragrance looks like any other designer perfume with its chic, minimalistic packaging. Delivered in a pale pink box along with a sample and a card describing the fragrance’s notes, original brand inspiration, percent concentration, and return process. Dossier allows free shipping to customers who order three or more fragrances.

We know shopping online for something as personal and intimate as a perfume can be difficult. It may take you a long time to find the right scent and the company’s return policy makes the quest a little easier. Packages come with one full-sized bottle along with a sample which you can try out and return if not wanted, no questions asked. The lid on the perfume bottle even magnetizes, just as we like it!

Is Dossier long lasting?

We all use our perfumes differently, some more than others. As designer perfumes can sit a little heavy on the skin sometimes, Dossier offers vegan, cruelty-free products. This company crafted in Grasse, France claims its longevity is the same as the original brands while being free of colorant and UV filters.

Inspired by Diptyque’s Do Son, Floriental Tuberose with its carnal, sweet smell and green, spicy nuances smells like white floral with hints of orange blossom and rose, although at first comes off as too sweet but transforms as the fragrance settles into the skin.

Inspired by Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry, Oriental Cherry is a fall fragrance, neither candy-sweet nor medicinal. Accompanied by almond and cinnamon on the opening, it’s a rich, gourmand experience for the first hour or so, opening into a vaguely floral spice before finally settling into smoky vanilla.

Inspired by Dior’s Miss Dior, Floral Pink Pepper is rosy and warm without feeling musky and feels bright without a heavy citrus influence. Definitely, a contender for your new summer scent.

All in all, Dossier offers quality and quantity!

How long does Dossier take to deliver?

While this perfume brand caters to the customer’s every need while making the product, the same cannot be said for its delivery. There have been many customers who have complained in the past about late deliveries and unpleasant experiences with the customer service. You can also find some customers complain that Dossier has been deleting their negative reviews on their social media page.

The brand is an example of how to do marketing right. The company has steered clear of getting labeled as a perfume for people who are cheap but instead markets itself as a perfume that takes inspiration from the original and creates blends that everyone can afford.

Next time, when you brush past a stranger on the street, or you have no idea what to gift someone, make an impression with Dossier.
